Te Mana ʻO Te Niu (The Power of the Coconut) is a one-of-one Polynesian necklace made by Polynesian hands.
This piece is a remake of an original necklace we previously created and donated. While inspired by that earlier work, this version was recreated once only. Once this necklace is sold, it will not be remade again.
The foundation of this necklace is natural coconut fiber (niu), braided and coiled by hand. It is adorned with Mother of Pearl flower shells, freshwater pearls, and small natural shell accents, arranged in a vertical form that highlights the strength and texture of the materials.
Coconut fiber has long been used across Polynesia for binding, structure, and everyday life. In this piece, the niu is not decorative — it is the core of the design.
Once sold, Te Mana ʻO Te Niu will no longer exist.
